About the office
A review practice named for patience, not speed
Hinoki Review Office grew from year-end work for manufacturers and wholesalers around 栃木県 who wanted reviewers that still read the schedules by hand.
Why we opened in 丸山区
Much of Japan’s industrial north keeps books that look tidy on the surface and messy in the cut-off. We chose 栃木県 because the companies here — parts makers, food processors, regional distributors — still invite reviewers onto the floor. That proximity matters when inventory sheets disagree with the general ledger.
The name Hinoki nods to slow-growing timber: work that strengthens when given time. Financial auditing here is not a race to issue paper; it is a discipline of asking the same question twice when the first answer feels thin.
How we work with clients
- One senior reviewer owns the engagement from scoping to findings
- Evidence requests arrive in waves, not a single overwhelming dump
- We speak plainly about fees when scope expands mid-fieldwork
- We decline work we cannot staff with proper independence
Practice lead
Aya Morishita
Aya spent more than a decade on manufacturing audits before founding Hinoki Review Office. She still prefers warehouse mornings to conference-room slides, and she writes findings memos that name the account, the sample, and the recommended correction.
Her focus areas include inventory valuation, revenue cut-off for shipping-heavy traders, and related-party disclosures in family-owned groups.
Values that show up in the workpapers
Independence first
We do not keep the books we later review. If a relationship would cloud judgment, we say no before the engagement letter is signed.
Evidence over assertion
Management explanations matter, but bank statements, count sheets, and shipping logs decide whether a balance holds.
Local presence
On-site days in 栃木県 and neighbouring prefectures are normal. Remote-only reviews are rare and scoped carefully.
Visit or write before year-end pressure peaks
A short scoping conversation often clarifies whether a review, inventory observation, or statutory-audit support fits your calendar.
